FRIDAY NOVEMBER 16, 2007

I am the worst blogger ever. Here are more Ireland pictures from a year ago. I’d tell you about the day, but it was so long ago, I don’t remember any of it. It was cold. The people had accents. There was lots of green. Here are some pretty pictures. I took them. Enjoy.

Galway:

Overheard in Galway:

“They only drink on days beginning with “T.” Tuesday, Thursday, Today, Tomorrow.”

Athlone:

A bar/funeral parlor. Only in Ireland.

This is just one of the reasons why soccer has not caught on in the States.

In Athlone, I stopped at DiBella for pizza. It was not good.

But the Guinness at Sean’s Bar made up for it

Sean’s Bar is the oldest pub in Ireland. It had sawdust covered checkerboard floors and a fireplace. It was cozy, warm and friendly. A great bar. Sean’s dates back to the year 900. It’s not everyday that you get to drink a Guinness in a 1108 year old pub. They also had magnificent bathroom signs:

Back in Dublin, I went to Temple Bar:

The Ha’Penny Bridge and the River Liffey:
